Here is the new sign, which Neil had in place for July 1st. I apologize for not being able to crop it to show it better. However, the old sign will come down and I will take another photo. But I wanted to highlight the work that Neil and Christine Barr have been doing since leasing the hall from the community, with the help of public funds. In June 2009, at a meeting in this very hall, it was voted by the community to keep the hall and put out a lease proposal for some one to manage it. Neil and Christine leased it in the name of Lighthouse Ministries. In that short time, they have brought the kitchen up to standard enabling the Department of Agriculture to issue a food permit; replaced the furnace; fixed the leak, installed ceiling lights and fans, painted the door, and put up the sign. No doubt I have missed some accomplishments. But it’s important to recognize the work and efforts to maintain this hall for the community. They hosted a free Christmas Dinner for any and all and served a ham and salad supper as part of our Hay Days celebration this year. Let’s support the hall by renting it if we can, and attending community functions.
