Edible Schoolyard Project

We are very lucky to have Angela and Lindsay Van de Riet as coordinators of the “edible schoolyard project” at Shubie District School. They helped the children plant seeds in the spring, looked after the garden all summer, and harvest the produce just last week. In these pictures, you see Angela with Chef Renee. Renee came out and prepared a beautiful meal with all the fresh produce. We enjoyed baked spaghetti squash, minestrone soup, and red cabbage salad. The kids had a blast. The other pictures are part of a display at the Maritime Fall Fair, showcasing schools participating in this project.
