Spring is in the air. It’s time to enjoy the renewed warmth of the sun and think about warm weather activities. The Canoe to the Sea race will start in Shubie this year and head to Maitland. There will be many safety boats and lots of river information. It starts at noon, Sunday, June 10th from our dock! Soon there will be a sign on the community grounds and more information.
Now that you know I will not be reoffering, I hope some of you are considering this rewarding public position. It comes with a lot of responsibility to your community and the larger community of the municipality. You will grow personally, and learn many things about local governance. Public office is worthwhile!
As we know, volunteers are the heart of our community. They keep the streetscape warm and appealing; they mow grass, build trails, maintain the community hall and grounds, take care of the play ground and wading pool and ball fields and public spaces, and run significant events. Please consider helping, either at an event, or as a member of a committee. Please contact any of the groups listed, or contact me.
