Canoe to the Sea 2012

After looking at the tide tables, it appears as if Canoe to the Sea will be OK on Sunday, June 10.  It will be an actual canoe to the “SEA this time.  The idea will be for all paddlers to start at the likttle wharf in the Village of Shubenacadie with the high tide about Noon.  They will follow the outgoing tide all the way to Maitland, with 4 - 5 hours to make it before the tide changes.  There will be safety boats at Stewiacke and at South Maitland to ensure that nobody gets caught in the white water or in the turning tide.  With these considerations, it looks like any skill lever will be OK.
