Decorating Main Street

Residents as well as visitors to Shubenacadie this summer will enjoy a beautified main street – with flower baskets on the poles all along one side – new Welcoming – street banners on the other – The village will be showcasing its new marketing look that highlights our River and Farming Heritage – 35 banners will be installed in May for the summer season

Ettinger’s Home Hardware taking shape

The new Ettinger’s Home Hardware store is a bit of a marvel in the way it is being built – imagine trying to build a brand new store while at the same time you are operating the old one and to service you clients during the process.  We congratulate Helen, George and the whole team for their faith and positive support this will provide in the community.  It is important that we all support our local businesses so that we are able to keep them.

New Water System for Shubie

Work has been ongoing over the winter and into the spring on a much needed new water system for the Village.  New wells on the edge of town will pump water to a new water tower on Conley Hill – about 4 times the size of the old one.  This will provide better quality water, higher pressure and possibly even fire hydrants that work – they will be working on the infrastructure as well as the treatment facility through the rest of the year.
