Canoe to the SEA June 27

The Canoe to tyhe Sea Event Saturday June 27 - needs about 5 volunteer drivers to take particpants vehicles to Maitland for them - they will be brought back to Shubie River Park right after.  If you can help please contact

We will all meet at the Shubie River Park by the Ball Diamonds at 8:30am.

Canoes and Kayaks leave at 9:00am



Shubie Hay Days / Canada Day Coming Quickly

It is that time of the year again when your Hay Days Committee is VERY busy finishing up the plans for another GREAT Hay Days / Canada Celebration.  The 2015 edition is going to be very exciting with lots of activities.  Here are just a few highlights...

  • Saturday June 27 - Canoe to the Sea - meet at the park - to register 8:00am - Canoes and Kayaks depart 9:00am - 39 KM paddle to Maitland - whatd an experience for the whole family
  • Tuesday June 30 - Gospel Sing at the Shubie River Park Event Stage - 7:00pm - the churches in our community are putting on this special event to kick off Hay Days - bring your lawn chair and family for a great evening of music
  • Wednesday July 1st - Canada Day
    • Breakfast at the Legion
    • Activities in the Shubie River Park - all day Bouncy Toys - Carnival Actviities - Booths
    • Classic Car Show - at the United Church + BBQ
    • People Parade - 1:00pm - come be part of it - followed by Opening Cerimonies
    • Rubber Duck Race - on the River - purchase ducks at the Tin Shop Museum or at the park
    • Live Concert in the PARK on the Event Stage - Local Musicians - then RUKUS same band we had last year 7:00pm - 10:00pm - bring your lawn chairs - fill the park
    • FIRE WORKS - we cap the evening off with some of the best Fireworks in the region - Shubie Fire Brigade in Charge
  • MUCH MUCH MUCH more

Volunteers Needed - Park Cleanup day June 20th - bring your lawn mower - weed wacker - rake - shovel - cleaning stuff - help us give our beautiful park a real spring cleaning.

Donations Welcomed - All of these events are supported by local business and community members - we invite each of you to make a donation towards this special week of events - drop off your cheque or cash to the Tin Shop Museum - make cheques payable to Shubie Hay Days - you can mail them to - 70 Mill Village Road, Shubenacadie B0N 2H0
